Jodo is the art of stick fighting of the TAKEDA school is unique in which it combines the strategies and techniques with those unarmed combat with weapons.

The stick is a weapon of defense surprising the assailant used either in strike or rapid responses in situations of self-defense.

The origin of the use of the stick as a weapon is very old.

JODO, as practiced in TAKEDA school is very diverse and effective. This art includes lock, immobilization techniques, projections as stick fighting in which most strikes, blows and blocking techniques are used.

At higher level, Shugi-jutsu is also practiced, this disciplines uses one or two short sticks.
